Short Biography: Dr. Esmail Doustkhah is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Chemistry at Istinye University, Türkiye, and the Director of the Clean Energy Research Center (TEAM). His research focuses on the design, synthesis, and functionalization of layered and nanoporous materials for sustainable energy applications, with an emphasis on photocatalytic and electrocatalytic hydrogen production and gas capture applications. He leads and contributes to several national and international projects, including WPlast2H2 (TÜBİTAK 224N737, focused on plastic waste upcycling for green hydrogen), MLALH (TÜBİTAK 123N224, Machine Learning-driven Atomically Layered Heterostructures for H₂ production). Dr. Doustkhah received his Ph.D. in 2017 and has held prestigious fellowships, including JSPS (Japan) and Marie Curie (EU). He serves as an Editor for Applied Catalysis O: Open and for BMC Chemistry.
